Day 1 – Puerto Maldonado Lodge Adventure, Monkey Island & Night Excursion .
Location: Amazon Rainforest Welcome · Tambopata · Jungle Lodge
Your adventure begins in Puerto Maldonado, the gateway to the southern Peruvian Amazon. Upon arrival at the airport or bus terminal, our team will welcome you and transfer you to our office for a brief orientation. You will also have the opportunity to store any heavy luggage before the tour.
Next, we travel to the main port, where we board our motorized boat and navigate along the Madre de Dios River to our lodge, located in the heart of the rainforest. Upon arrival, enjoy a refreshing welcome drink prepared with exotic Amazonian fruits before settling into your room.
In the afternoon, we begin our first guided jungle walk, where you may spot monkeys, tropical birds, colorful butterflies, and medicinal plants.
After lunch, we visit Monkey Island, home to squirrel monkeys, capuchin monkeys, and tamarins.
In the evening, we embark on a nighttime river excursion by boat to search for caimans and other nocturnal wildlife.

Day 2 – Natural Paradise & Lake Sandoval Reserve .

After breakfast, we head toward the spectacular Lake Sandoval. We travel approximately 20 minutes upstream by motorized boat to reach the main entrance of this stunning oxbow lake located within the Tambopata Reserve.
After registering at the entrance, we begin a 3-kilometer hike through pristine rainforest, observing a variety of wildlife including monkeys, birds, macaws, and, with luck, other rainforest animals.
Later, we arrive at a small jungle dock hidden deep within the forest, where we board a hand-paddled canoe and travel through a winding, snake-shaped channel for approximately 20 minutes.
Once on Lake Sandoval, we quietly explore the lake by canoe, allowing excellent opportunities to observe wildlife without disturbing its natural behavior. Species commonly seen include hoatzins, herons, birds of prey, howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, and, with luck, the endangered giant river otter. Black caimans can also occasionally be spotted along the shoreline.
In the afternoon, we return to the lodge.
After dinner, enjoy a guided night walk through the rainforest. As darkness falls, the jungle transforms into a completely different world filled with glowing insects, colorful frogs, tarantulas, and mysterious sounds.
Day 3 – Canopy Walkway, Zipline Adventure & Kayaking .

Today begins early with a canopy walkway experience. Walking approximately 40 meters (130 feet) above the forest floor, you’ll witness sunrise over the endless Amazon canopy stretching across the horizon like a green carpet.
This elevated viewpoint offers excellent opportunities to observe macaws, toucans, and oropendolas.
Later, enjoy an exciting zipline adventure led by professional guides. This safe family-friendly activity combines adrenaline, spectacular views, and unforgettable memories.
In the afternoon, enjoy a kayaking excursion along the river and experience traditional Amazonian fishing at sunset.
Day 4 – Exploring the Tambopata National Reserve .

After breakfast, we travel by boat back toward Puerto Maldonado. We then continue by private vehicle for approximately 50 minutes to the main Tambopata River port.
From there, we board another boat and navigate along the Tambopata River to our lodge located inside the Tambopata National Reserve.
After settling into your accommodations, we begin exploring the reserve’s pristine primary rainforest.
During our guided walk, you’ll discover ancient giant trees, monkeys, colorful butterflies, amphibians, and rare rainforest insects.
In the evening, you may participate in an optional night walk to observe caimans and other nocturnal wildlife before returning to the lodge for rest.
Day 5 – Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick & One of Peru’s Greatest Natural Spectacles .

Today begins very early at 5:00 a.m. as we navigate the Tambopata River while enjoying a breathtaking Amazon sunrise.
Along the journey, there is a chance to encounter some of the rainforest’s most iconic wildlife, including jaguars, capybaras, and even anacondas.
Upon arrival at the famous Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick, witness hundreds of Scarlet Macaws, Red-and-Green Macaws, and Blue-and-Yellow Macaws gathering to feed on mineral-rich clay deposits.
