Trail Peru Macaw Clay Lick 4 D .

A Symphony of Nature’s Bounty – Trail Peru Macaw Clay Lick . .As you delve deeper into the Amazon, you’ll discover the harmony between man and nature. The indigenous people, guardians of this pristine land, provide us with invaluable sustainable resources while living in perfect harmony with the jungle that surrounds them.

Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Tambopata Lodge Inn .

We will pick you up from the bus terminal or airport and then transfer to our main office to register, where you can leave some things and take what you need for the 4-day tour that will start at 8:30 a.m. Then we will take our private transportation for 2 hours and 30 minutes to the Tambopata port where our motorized boat will be waiting for us, to continue our journey up the Tambopata River for 1 hour and 20 minutes. During the river journey, we will observe different species such as birds, turtles, capybaras, white caimans, etc. If we have the opportunity to see the king of the jungle (jaguar) sunbathing or resting on the beaches, then we will arrive at our lodge “Lodge Tambopata Inn”.
We will welcome you with a typical aphrodisiac drink from the Amazon and accommodation in your respective room. After lunch, a short break, and In the afternoon, we will explore the primary jungle full of ancient trees where many creatures such as insects, spiders, ants, toads, butterflies, monkeys, and some mammals live, etc.
After dinner, we will take a night activity with our outboard boat. For this activity, we will need to bring flashlights to observe caimans, capybaras, and perhaps a feline near the river at night that naturally hunts at night. Return to our lodge to rest in your respective room.

Day 2: Chuncho Clay Lick Observation / Hikes

Today we will wake up early at 5:00 a.m., where we will take our boat to travel down the Tambopata River for 30 minutes.
Enjoying a wonderful sunrise with the opportunity to see the king of the jungle (jaguar) or anaconda on the banks of our Tambopata National Reserve.
We will arrive at the Chuncho clay lick where we will camouflage ourselves to observe the Macaws just a few meters away which will allow us to have the best position for the show that the wonderful birds will offer.
The clay lick is very close; you won’t even need to zoom in on your cameras. As the sun rises over the ancient trees, an explosion of life and color will burst before our eyes as hundreds of parrots and dozens of macaws eat clay to balance their pH correctly. In groups of two and three, the greedy red macaws and scarlet macaws come flapping their wings, landing in the main part of the trees. The macaws will eventually decide to come down and put on a colorful and noisy display on the bare shores, getting all the clay they can from the surface. As they delight, we will have the unique opportunity to enjoy an extraordinary healthy breakfast while watching the show (so yes, sit down and relax).
After this activity, we will take our boat back to our lodge, have lunch and rest. In the afternoon, we will take a walk to explore the flora and fauna of the Tambopata Reserve where we will encounter a great diversity of species in their natural habitat.
Return to our lodge to enjoy a delicious dinner. After dinner, we will take a night walk listening to the songs and sounds of the night such as insects, spiders, tarantulas, frogs, snakes, night monkeys, butterflies, beetles, some nocturnal animals. Then we will return to our lodge to rest in their respective rooms, with private availability with mosquito nets, shower, and bathroom.

Day 3: Piranha Fishing – Hikes and Mammal Clay Lick.

We will wake up to the songs of the birds and howler monkeys, have breakfast, and then embark on our outboard boat for 30 minutes downstream from the Tambopata where we will make a stop at the Gato String. We will do artisanal fishing such as catfish, sábalos, sardines, paco, etc. Then we will explore the magical jungle where different species live naturally. After this activity, we will visit a stream where you can enjoy or take a refreshing swim in its clean and crystal clear waters with a very beautiful landscape. In the afternoon, after lunch, we will take hikes and then visit the mammal clay lick, where we will probably have better chances of finding howler monkeys, deer, wild pigs, and some other mammals that come to eat the clay because it contains many mineral salts and sodium that they eat every day to have good digestion during the day the mammals and birds eat; stems, flowers, roots, leaves, green and poisonous fruits. From there we will return to our lodge to enjoy our delicious dinner. Then we will have a bonfire, our guide will tell you stories and legends about the magical jungle and answer some of your questions. After this activity, we will return to our lodge to rest in their respective rooms. Availability of shower and bathroom in our lodge.

Day 4: Tambopata to Puerto Maldonado / Airport.

Today we will wake up very early for breakfast and then have free time for a bath and photographs. After this activity, we will pack our backpacks and head to the port to board the outboard boat and continue our journey down the TAMBOPATA river to the port where our transportation awaits us for the return journey to the city and port of Maldonado and then transfer to the land terminal / airport.
It all depends on your flight schedule; we have to be at the airport 2 hours before your check-in.
