Day 1: Arrival in Puerto Maldonado & Journey to Heath River
Warm welcome at Puerto Maldonado airport.

Arrive at the Heath River Wildlife Center, located on the Peru-Bolivia border.

Day 2: Macaw Clay Lick & Rainforest Jungle – Pampas Heath.

The Bahuaja Sonene National Park.
It was created in 1996 to protect representative ecosystems of the Amazon subtropical and subtropical yunga biogeographic provinces. Later, in 2000, the territory of the old Pampas del Heath National Sanctuary, representative of the palm savannah formation tarvel rainforest travel
was incorporated. Travel The park maintains areas of climatic conditions and diverse vegetation. Without its buffer zone occupies the surface PNBS from seven different areas of life. The variety of forests PNBS can be summarized in three
main formations: low jungle, savannah and palm Yungas. The lowland forests are characterized by lower altitudes stand at 800 m, in a rainy environment with a topography dominated by relatively smooth plains and hills. Yungas forests are high,
wet and evergreen located on the east side of the Andes, between 800 and 3600 meters. Palm savannah presents a very different environment than the above, dominated by flat expanses of herbaceous and presence of palm trees and shrubs.
