You will explore two of the most important areas of the Amazon: the Tambopata National Reserve and the stunning Lake Sandoval, home to one of the greatest concentrations of flora and fauna on the planet.
From tiny insects to majestic mammals, every corner of this tropical rainforest will amaze you.
Day 1: Welcome to the Jungle & Exploration Walk
Your adventure begins in Puerto Maldonado, where we will pick you up from the airport or bus terminal. After a brief orientation at our office, we will begin our journey into the jungle.
We will navigate along the Tambopata River, observing species such as:
- Turtles
- Riverside birds
- Small caimans
Upon arrival at our lodge inside the reserve, you will enjoy a traditional Amazonian lunch and have time to settle in.
In the afternoon, we will take an interpretive walk where you can observe:
Amphibians, reptiles, and insects
Medicinal plants
Giant trees such as the Amazonian Brazil nut tree
At night, a guided jungle walk will reveal the rainforest’s most mysterious side: frogs, tarantulas, nocturnal monkeys, and birds active in the darkness.
Day 2: Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick & Monkey Island
Very early (4:30 a.m.), we begin a journey upriver to the famous Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick, considered the largest in South America.
Along the way, you may spot:
- Capybaras (the world’s largest rodent)
- Tapirs
- And, with luck, the majestic jaguar
At sunrise, you will witness one of the most breathtaking natural spectacles:
hundreds of macaws and parrots feeding on mineral-rich clay, creating an unforgettable explosion of colors and sounds.
After breakfast, we continue toward the Madre de Dios River to reach our second lodge.
In the afternoon, we visit Monkey Island, home to species such as:
- Capuchin monkeys
- Squirrel monkeys
- Tamarins
At night, we take a boat excursion to observe caimans, nocturnal birds, and other animals that emerge after dark.
Day 3: Lake Sandoval Exploration
After breakfast, we head to the spectacular Lake Sandoval.
The adventure begins with a 3 km walk through the जंगल, surrounded by:

- Orchids and ferns
- Monkeys and exotic birds
Then, we board a rowing canoe to explore the lake.
Here you may observe:

This lake, surrounded by more than 35 species of palm trees, is one of the richest ecosystems in the Peruvian Amazon.

Day 4: Canopy, Hanging Bridges & Return
On your final day, you will wake up early to enjoy the Amazon sunrise.
We will take part in adventure activities such as:
- Walking across hanging bridges
- Canopy or zipline experience
- Observation from platforms 40 meters high
From above, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the Madre de Dios River and the endless green Amazon rainforest.
After breakfast, we begin the return to Puerto Maldonado, followed by your transfer to the airport or bus terminal.
