Day 1 : Arrival in Puerto Maldonado & Jungle Lodge .

Meet your guide in Puerto Maldonado and begin a scenic  journey through the rainforest. Continue by boat along the Tambopata River to your jungle lodge. Day 2 : Macaw Clay Lick – Sunrise Wildlife Viewing .

Depart before sunrise for the famous Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick. Watch hundreds of colorful macaws, parrots, and parakeets gather on the riverbank in one of the Amazon’s most impressive wildlife displays. After breakfast and lunch, transfer to your next lodge on the Madre de Dios River. Evening night walk included.

Day 3 : Lake Sandoval – Jungle Hike, Discovery  Experience .

Highlights: Tambopata Reserve, canoe exploration, giant otters .

Travel to the beautiful Sandoval Lake in the Tambopata National Reserve. Hike through pristine rainforest before exploring the lake by canoe. Look for giant river otters, turtles, hoatzins, caimans, and capybaras. Overnight at a family-run eco-lodge and enjoy an evening wildlife walk.

Day 4 : Jungle Exploration  to Sandoval Reserve  by  Canoe  .

Day 5 : Puerto Maldonado – Canopy Adventure Departure .

After breakfast, return toward Puerto Maldonado. Along the way, experience the rainforest from above on canopy bridges and an exciting zipline adventure. After the activity, transfer to the airport or bus terminal for your departure.

5 Days Family Adventure in the Peruvian Amazon

Day 1 : Arrival at Puerto Maldonado .

Your guide will greet you at Puerto Maldonado Airport (or bus terminal) and transport you to our downtown office—just 5 minutes away. Here, we’ll finalize your registration and stock up on essentials like batteries, repellent, and ponchos.

The jungle journey begins! We traverse winding rainforest roads for about two hours toward the Philadelphia community. At the riverbank, you’ll transfer to a motorized boat and glide along the serene Tambopata River, arriving at your first Amazon lodge.

After settling into your room, stretch your legs on an introductory rainforest walk with our naturalist guide. Discover the wonders of jungle flora and fauna—it’s a fantastic family photo op! Return for an Amazon‑style dinner, then embark on your first night walk, spotting nocturnal creatures like caiman, tree frogs, insects, and owls.

 Day 2 : Sunrise Macaw Spectacle at Chuncho Clay Lick .

Post‑lunch, return to Puerto Maldonado and journey by boat (about 10 minutes) along the mighty Madre de Dios River to Amazon Lodge Tambopata—your next jungle retreat. Evening brings dinner and a night walk for more nocturnal wildlife viewing.

 Day 3 :Lake Sandoval – Jungle Hike, Discovery  Experience .

After breakfast, head by boat along Madre de Dios and then motor up to Lake Sandoval. Enter the heart of the Tambopata National Reserve and hike through a biodiverse terra firme forest for about one hour.

Hop into a canoe to silently glide across Lake Sandoval—expect sightings of giant otters, turtles, herons, hoatzins, caiman, and capybaras. Lunch riverside at a charming family-run lodge built by the Mejía family. Free time for a safe swim in the calm lake waters.

As dusk falls, we’ll hike jungle trails again to seek out nocturnal wildlife—maybe insects, frogs, or elusive creatures you haven’t spotted yet. Spend the night in this intimate, eco-friendly lodge.

Day 4 : Palm Tree  Macaw -Paddle  in the Lake .

Day 5 : Puerto Maldonado – Canopy Adventure Departure .

After breakfast, we return to Puerto Maldonado. We’ll take our canoe to the main port. Then we’ll hike 3 kilometers to the Madre de Dios River, where our outboard motorboat awaits. We’ll arrive and stop for adventure activities like ziplining and a canopy walkway. Afterward, we’ll return to Puerto Maldonado and then transfer to the airport or bus terminal.
