Itinerary: Amazon Explorer 3 Days

Immerse Yourself in the Pure Magic of the Amazon Jungle  Explorer .

Disconnect from the modern world and reconnect with nature in its purest form. Experience the Amazon as it has existed for millennia, untouched by the hands of time. Sleep under a blanket of stars in the heart of the jungle and wake up to the symphony of birdsong – a memory you’ll cherish forever.

Day 1: Arrival in Puerto Maldonado – Amazon Adventure

Welcome to Puerto Maldonado Amazon Explorer ! We will meet you at the Bus Terminal or Airport and then take you to our main office for registration. Here, you can leave any unnecessary items and gather what you’ll need for the next three days. Our Amazon Explorer adventure begins at 8:30 a.m.

We’ll embark on a private transport journey of about 2 hours to reach the port. Upon arrival, our boat and motorist will be ready to take us up the river for approximately 50 minutes. During this boat ride, we’ll have the opportunity to observe various wildlife species such as birds, turtles, capybaras, white alligators, and if we’re lucky, even the king of the jungle – the Jaguar – basking in the sun or resting on the riverbanks.

Upon reaching our hostel, we’ll greet you with a typical aphrodisiac Amazonian soft drink. You’ll settle into your respective rooms, and we’ll provide lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll embark on a guided walk through the primary forest, home to ancient trees and diverse creatures like insects, spiders, toads, butterflies, monkeys, and other mammals.

After dinner, we’ll embark on a nocturnal activity using lanterns to spot alligators, capybaras, and possibly some nocturnal feline predators near the river. These creatures are naturally active at night. After this thrilling activity, we’ll return to our hostel for a peaceful night’s rest in the heart of the Amazon rainforest in Peru.

Day 2: Macaw Clay Lick Chuncho – Amazon Jungle Explorer .

On day 2, we’ll start our day early at 5:00 am. We’ll board our boat and cruise up the river for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, providing a chance to witness a breathtaking sunrise and the possibility of spotting Jaguars or anacondas along the riverbanks in the Amazon National Reserve.

Our destination is a few meters from the Chuncho Clay Lick, where we’ll position ourselves perfectly to witness an incredible spectacle. Hundreds of parrots and parakeets, including red, green, and blue macaws, gather noisily at the clay walls to feed on mineral salts, creating a vivid explosion of life and color. We’ll enjoy our breakfast while witnessing this extraordinary show.

After this awe-inspiring activity, we’ll cruise back down the river to our lodge, making a stop at the control point to learn more about the Chuncho Clay Lick. We’ll also visit a museum where we’ll gain insights into the different species inhabiting this natural area. We’ll return to the lodge for lunch and some rest.

In the afternoon, we’ll embark on another guided walk to explore the rich flora and fauna of the reserve. Our knowledgeable guide will share insights about the diverse species in this area. In the evening, we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and then set out for a night walk, listening to the songs and sounds of nocturnal creatures like insects, spiders, tarantulas, frogs, snakes, night monkeys, butterflies, beetles, and other nighttime wildlife.

After this captivating experience, you’ll return to your private rooms equipped with mosquito nets, showers, and bathrooms for a peaceful night’s sleep.

Day 3: Departure from Lodge Inn to Puerto Maldonado – Airport/Bus Station

On the final day of our adventure, we’ll rise early for breakfast. We’ll pack our backpacks and head to the port, where we’ll board an outboard boat for a leisurely journey downriver, lasting approximately 1 hour. Our destination is the port city of Puerto Maldonado, where our return vehicle awaits.

We’ll provide transportation to the Airport or Bus Stations, ensuring a smooth transition back to your next destination.
