Day 1: Puerto Maldonado to Tambopata Lodge Inn –
Pickup from the bus terminal or airport, followed by registration at the main office.
Departure at 8:30 a.m. for the Amazon Adventure to Sandoval Lake.
Private transport for a 2-hour journey to the Tambopata port.
50-minute boat ride along the Tambopata River, observing wildlife.
Arrival at Tambopata Lodge Inn, greeted with a typical Amazonian aphrodisiac drink.
Lunch at the lodge.
Afternoon guided walk in the primary forest, encountering various creatures.
Dinner at the lodge.
Nocturnal activity with lanterns to observe alligators, capybaras, and possibly felines near the river.
Return to the lodge for rest.
Day 2: Tambopata Reserve Center to Macaw Clay Lick Chuncho –
Early start at 5:00 a.m.
Boat journey upstream the Tambopata River for 1 hour and 20 minutes, enjoying sunrise wildlife spotting.
Visit the clay lick to observe parrots and macaws feeding on clay.
Breakfast during the observation.
Boat journey to Tambopata Lodge Inn.
Explore the Research Center to learn about flora and fauna.
Return to the lodge for dinner.
Night walk to observe nocturnal species.
Rest at Tambopata Lodge Inn.
Day 3: Amazon Adventure – Sandoval Lake
Wake up to the sounds of birds and howler monkeys.
Breakfast and boat journey downriver for 50 minutes to the port.
Private transport for 2 hours back to Puerto Maldonado.
Prepare for the Sandoval Lake Reserve tour at the office.
Boat ride along the Madre de Dios River for 45 minutes to the canopy walk-way.

Day 4: Sandoval Lake to Puerto Maldonado / Airport/ Bus Station – Amazon Adventure

Observe Giant river otters in Sandoval Lake.
Lunch with local families.
Cross the lake for a walk in another primary forest.
Swim in the lake and have lunch.
Canoe ride followed by a walk and then boat ride back to Puerto Maldonado.

Day 1: Arrival in Puerto Maldonado – Tambopata Lodge Inn
Your adventure begins when we greet you at Puerto Maldonado, either at the bus terminal or airport. After registration at our main office and preparing your essentials, we depart .
Drive brings us to the Tambopata Port, where we board a motorized canoe. As we cruise the Tambopata River, keep your eyes peeled for exotic wildlife like birds, turtles, capybaras, white caimans, and perhaps even the elusive Jaguar sunbathing along the riverbanks.
Upon arrival at Tambopata Lodge Inn, enjoy a welcome drink before settling into your room.
In the afternoon, explore the primary forest, home to ancient trees, colorful butterflies, monkeys, and unique creatures. After dinner, join us for a nocturnal wildlife tour, where lanterns light up encounters with caimans, capybaras, and possibly nocturnal predators.
Day 2: Tambopata Reserve – Macaw Clay Lick Chuncho
Rise early at 5:00 AM and travel upriver to the Macaw Clay Lick Chuncho, a magical place in the Tambopata National Reserve. Witness a spectacular display of nature as vibrant parrots and majestic macaws gather to feast on the clay-rich riverbanks.
From a strategically placed observation point, marvel at this explosion of color and sound. Enjoy a delicious breakfast as nature puts on a show.
Later, visit the Research Center, renowned for its role in preserving Amazonian biodiversity. Spot monkeys, wild pigs, tapirs, and learn about medicinal plants. After dinner, embark on a night walk to observe nocturnal creatures before resting at the lodge.
Day 3: Sandoval Lake Exploration
After breakfast, we journey to the stunning Sandoval Lake. A short boat ride and an exhilarating canopy walkway adventure await, offering a bird’s-eye view of the rainforest. Glide down a zip line, soaring through the treetops like a bird!
At Sandoval Lake Reserve, take a peaceful 1.5-hour nature walk. Spot monkeys, toucans, and butterflies as you make your way to the tranquil lake. Board a canoe to explore its pristine waters, surrounded by palm trees and lush vegetation.
After dinner, a night forest walk reveals fascinating nocturnal wildlife, including Musmuqui monkeys, frogs, and insects. Spend the night in a comfortable lakeside lodge.
Day 4: Sandoval Lake – Puerto Maldonado
Start your day before sunrise with a visit to the Palm Tree Lick, where parrots and macaws feed on nutrient-rich palm bark. Later, explore the “Route of Giant Trees,” home to towering trees aged over 200 years. Learn about their ecological importance and the traditional uses of medicinal plants by indigenous communities.
After breakfast, try to spot the rare Giant River Otters, an endangered species with fascinating behaviors. You’ll also have time to swim in the lake and enjoy a final jungle trek before returning to Puerto Maldonado via boat and private transport.
