1. Contract Acceptance

By booking a trip with TAMBOPATA LODGE  – Travel & Tourism Agency (www.tambopatalodge.net), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions. This document governs the relationship between the client and the company, including cancellation policies, payments, modifications, and legal responsibilities. The applicable law will be that of Peru Amazon .

By doing so, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms on behalf of yourself and all other travelers included in the booking (including minors and persons with disabilities).

A booking is considered confirmed only when the company issues a confirmation email or receipt. At that point, a formal contract is established between the company and the client. The company reserves the right to modify prices before confirmation or to reject a booking at its discretion.

3. Travel  Booking Terms and Conditions –Tambopata Lodge

Sandoval Lake operates in remote areas where service standards may differ from those in your home country. Traveling in the Peruvian Amazon requires flexibility, patience, and understanding of potential changes due to circumstances beyond our control.

4. Force Majeure

Sandoval Lake is not responsible for situations that cannot be foreseen or avoided despite due diligence, such as:

  • Social unrest
  • Natural phenomena
  • Strikes
  • Illness outbreaks
  • Extreme weather conditions
  • Unexpected closures

In such cases, the company reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel the trip as a last resort.

5. Travel Insurance

We recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers:

  • Accidents
  • Medical expenses
  • Emergency repatriation
  • Cancellations
  • Lost luggage

Please send us your policy number before your trip.

6. Personal Documentation – Booking Terms and Conditions –Tambopata Lodge

Your passport must be valid. Please inform us if you plan to renew it before the trip.

If applicable, the ISIC card must be valid at the start of the tour.

7. Deposit and Final Payment – Booking Terms and Conditions –Tambopata Lodge 

  • To confirm your reservation, the following is required: 50% advance payment of the total cost of the tour package. This can be made in Peruvian soles or dollars. The remaining balance must be paid at least 48 hours before the tour starts at our offices in Lima, Cusco, or Puerto Maldonado (with cash in Peruvian soles or dollars). All amounts are subject to agreement with the client.

Important Notes:

 Transaction fees are not included in the tour price.

Reference exchange rate: 1 USD = Suns

8. Cancellations

Cancellations must be submitted in writing to bookingmanutrips@hotmail.com. The following penalties apply:
Notice Period Penalty

  • Up to 14 days before the trip, nothing is paid.
  • From 13 to 8 days before the trip: 50% of the total.
  • 2 days before or the same day: 100% of the total (non-refundable).

The final balance is non-refundable.

If requested, we can issue a letter for your travel insurance company.

Some unused portions of the service (e.g., Machu Picchu entrance tickets) may still be redeemable.

 

Only the person who made the booking may request a refund.

Taxes and bank/transfer fees are not refundable.

Estimated refund processing time: 3 to 10 business days.

Refund methods include:

Visa, Mastercard, American Express

Western Union, Moneygram

Bank deposits in BCP, BBVA, Interbank, Scotiabank, etc.

11. Health Recommendations

We recommend staying at an altitude above 3,000 meters (e.g., Cusco) for at least 3 days before the tour to minimize the effects of altitude sickness.

Helpful Tips:

Stay well hydrated

Avoid alcohol and smoking

Eat carbohydrate-rich foods

Drink coca leaf tea

Ask your doctor about Diamox if necessary

12. Early Arrival

We strongly recommend arriving in Lima or Cusco at least 48 hours before your tour. Unexpected events such as strikes may occur and could require starting the tour earlier than scheduled (see “Force Majeure” section). SANDOVAL LAKE TRIPS
