WILDLIFE OBSERVATION AND PHOTOGRAPHY .The Amazon is extremely diverse, but large wildlife encounters are uncommon.Tambopata is one of the world ́s most diverse wildernesses. It is also one of the best preserved. However, the vast majority of the rainforest ́s diversity is in the form of insects. The world record diversities of birds and mammals are mostly in the form of small, unspectacular species. Large spectacular species are rare, shy, unpredictable and very difficult to see, with few notable exceptions. So don ́t come expecting the wildlife densities of the African savannahs or the Antarctic Peninsula. We aren ́t in Jurassic Park or Disneyland, either. Nevertheless, Tambopata is diverse and it is well preserved and exciting encounters do occur on a regular basis. At Tambopata Research Center, you will have some of the Amazon ́s best chances of seeing jaguar, tapir, giant river otters, harpy eagles, macaws, etc. However, the Amazon ́s best chances for some of these species are very slim, although they do occur. On average, for example, we encounter some 20 jaguars a year, perhaps the most difficult to see of the aforementioned species. Not only are large wildlife encounters uncommon, but they are usually distant and/or fleeting. Another important thing to keep in mind is that when you do encounter wildlife, you will not have the clear, ample field of view of the African savannahs or Antarctica, or the reposed exhibits of a zoo. In all likelihood you will see the wildlife through branches, leaves, vine tangles and dense vegetation, scampering, stampeding, flying or leaping away from you, at heights of up to 40 metres for less than a minute. But wonderful encounters do happen. Jaguar encounters were mentioned above: one was of a jaguar eating a dead tapir, at 18 metres seen for 15 minutes by 8 people. Another one was of a jaguar sleeping on the beach in front of the Tambopata Research Center. Our driver did three return trips to show everyone at the lodge, including staff, the sleeping jaguar. It was even filmed by a crew from the BBC! The next day, it was there again. Still another was of a jaguar that walked dead on to the middle of a group on a trail, was surprised by it, and then leapt the other way

Itinerario Tours

Dia 1 :

Puerto Maldonado – Refuce Center – Tambopata Lodge Inn .

We will pick you up from Bus terminal or airport then we will go to our main office to register where you can leave some things and take what is necessary. For the 5 day tour we will start at 8:30 a.m. We will take our private transport for 2 hours to the port. Tambopata where our boat and motorist will be waiting for us to continue our trip to Tambopata River for 50 minutes where we will observe different species such as birds, turtles, capybaras, white alligators ect if we have the opportunity to see the king of the jungle (Jaguar) who are taking the sun or tired on the beaches then we will arrive at our  “TAMBOPATA LODGE INN” we will welcome you with typical aphrodisiac soft drink of the amazonia accommodation in your respective room lunch In the afternoon we will take a walk in the primary forest full of millenary trees that coexist with many creatures like, insects, spiders, horribles, toads , butterflies, monkeys and some mammals ect After dinner we will do a nocturnal activity with our lanterns to observe alligators, capybaras and maybe some feline that is near the river at night that they naturally hunt at night. After this activity return to our hostel to rest in their respective room .


DAY 2:

Refuce Center  Macaw Clay Lick Chuncho – Research Center  Walk  .

Today we will get up early 5:00 am where we will take our boat by travel upstream the tambopata for 1 hour 20 minutes enjoying a wonderful sunrise with a chance to see the king of the jungle (Jaguar) or anaconda on the shores of our Tambopata National Reserve. we will reach the Clay lick. A comfortable giant blind, located few distance meters away from the Clay Lick enables you to have the best possible position for the show that will be displayed by the birds. The blind is located so close to the lick that you will not even need zoom on you cameras! As the sun rises over century-old trees, an explosion of life and color will burst before our eyes as hundreds of parrots and dozens of Macaws eat clay in order to get their right  balance leveled. In groups of twos and threes the red-and-greed as well as scarlet Macaws come flapping in, landing in the treetops main The Macaws will finally decide to come down and make a colorful and noisy display on the naked banks, getting all the clay they can from the hard surface. While they feast on the sodium sediments, we have the unique opportunity to enjoy nothing but a healthy and remarkable breakfast as we watch the show (so yes, sit back and relax). After this activity we will take our boat to Tambopata Lodge Inn  in the afternoon we explorer to   (RESEARCH CENTER,)  One of the best in the world to know the flora and fauna as. Monkeys, wild pigs, tapir, giant trees, medicinal trees after this activity we will return to our camp that is located limit of the Tambopata National Reserve of the Bahuaja Sonene National Park ; After dinner we will make a walk to see different species that come out at night to look for their food then we will return to our TAMBOPATA LODGE INN where we will spend the night in our private rooms .

Day 3:

Refuce Center  Macaw Clay Lick Colorado – Tambopata Lodge Inn.

We will wake up with the songs of the birds and the howler monkeys, we will take our boat approximately 20 minutes upstream from the Tambopata  to observe the Colorado Colpa where every morning they pose large herds of parrots , Pericos, macaws, birds and some mammals where we can appreciate a great show in the (RESERVE CENTER) that lives in its natural habitat is an unforgettable experience for those who like to enjoy the living nature after this activity we will return to our camp to enjoy our breakfast After we will visit the research center (RESERVE CENTER) Tambopata National Reserve of Bahuaja Sonene National Park to have more information about the macaws of the future then we will take our boat down the tambopata river about 2 hours we will settle in our hostel TAMBOPATA LODGE INN In the afternoon we will visit native medicinal plantations where you can enjoy exotic fruits like, cashew, shoe, platono, papayas, oranges, pighuayo, ect Medicinal plants. oje, healthy healthy, huasai, matico, pona, reed cane, uvilla, grade blood, after dinner we will perform night activity we will observe the black alligators that come out at night to look for their food and all their habitual behavior.retorno to our Lodge rest in their respective rooms .


Refuce Center Tambopata Lodge Inn  to sandoval Lake Reserve  .

We will wake up with the sounds of the birds and probably howler monkeys, will get our breakfast and travel downriver with boat 50 minutes untill port where is waiting us our private transport for 2 hours back to Puerto Maldonado after that to go our office where you can leave your things and bring the necessary things with you for the Sandoval lake reserve tour. There we will go to port where our motor boat awaits us. From there we will make our trip along the Madre de Dios River approximately 45 minutes until we reach the control post of the Sandoval del Tambopata Lake Reserve where we will register. From there we will start the walk of 1 hour 30 minutes making stops and observe different species such as plants, birds, insects, butterflies and some species of monkeys. We will arrive at a small port where we will board a canoe in a narrow canal surrounded by forest, that leads to the open waters of the. Lake Sandoval, which allows us to see an excellent scenic beauty between the water and the palm trees and large aguajales we hear strange noises of other animals that surprise us with their presence, toads, migratory birds as we cross the lake we will arrive to our lodge  that is located 4 minutes from the port of Sandoval Lake. Accommodation in our private room with shower and bath after a short rest we will explore the flora and fauna observed by some species that live in their natural habitat. After dinner we will do a night walk Equipped with a lantern or head lamp, we will make a night walk in the forest to look for the nocturnal monkey (Musmuqui), frogs, snakes and insects that are active during the night.

Tours Day 5:

Refuge Center  Sandoval Lake to Puerto Maldonado and Airport/ Bus Station.

Very early after breakfast we will leave the Tambopata National Reserve taking the same way back to the entrance at the Sandoval port on the Madre de Dios River, from where will be taking our boat to return to Puerto Maldonado. After re-packing your luggage, the guide will take you to the airport.
